1st August 2026 at Bideford BC, Devon
A very warm welcome was received on our visit to Bideford for a celebration match whilst in the area, the weather was hot but bearable luckily.
Captain Chris made us feel very welcome and the game was played in the usual good humour and sportsmanship that you expect to see.
The bowling gods were with us as we won on all six rinks with a score of 102 – 68 . During the match we were provided with a Devon cream tea which was gratefully received.
Top winning rink for the friends was Rink 5 : Lead – Lesley Summersgill, No 2 – John Bates, No 3 – Richard Somerton, Skip – Trevor Dean
With a score of 17 – 7
The top rink for Bideford was Rink 1 : Lead – Brian, No 2 – Bill, No 3 – Jon, Skip – Pat
With a narrow loss of 11-12

The function of the friends was explained to the players along with the usual thank-you’s followed by the presentation of a certificate to commemorate our visit. What a great and warm day for bowls.
