Monday 11th July at Oakley BC. If you have never been to Oakley, you have missed a real treat. It is in the middle of the countryside and only reachable through narrow twisting lanes, but once there it is well worth the effort to see the club in the Colman Estate (Colman’s mustard). Saturday 9th July – Friends at The Alexandra Bowling & Social Club, Portsmouth. On arrival at the club we were greeted by a wonderful array of colour from a multitude of hanging baskets, planters and flower beds. Friday, 8th July, Leigh Park BC. Saturday 25th June Friends of English Bowling visit Thame Bowls Club It was perfect weather for bowling, although the breeze was challenging at times, but nobody’s complaining! Sunday 19th June, Henlow Park Bowls Club. Arriving at Henlow several bowlers from Bedfordshire had already played at other clubs in a local Bedfordshire Competition, so they were fully warmed up. We were disappointed to learn that their President would not be in attendance as he and his wife had both caught Covid (it’s still about).
