Saturday 7th September 2024 The first of our 2 games in Oxfordshire took us to Charlbury BC, who were celebrating their 90th Anniversary. We were very lucky with the cloudy but dry weather ideal for bowling. President Karen welcomed us all at the club entrance and invited us to take tea or coffee with biscuits. Tuesday 27th August 2024 The National Championships at Victoria Park, Leamington Spa have been running now for 12 days, and today Friends challenge a BE select Team in their annual match. The weather, whilst a bit dull, was warm but blowy – thankfully not cold, like the previous weekend. Worcestershire a scenic county, with lovely towns and villages. One of them, Bredon, is home to, of course, Bredon Bowls Club. The club is set in a sporting complex and is beautifully kept and their members most welcoming. Saturday 27th July 2024 Tewkesbury Bowling Club, the second oldest club in Gloucestershire, was bathed in sunshine when we arrived to be greeted by the club Chairman Stewart and Captain Malcolm, but a heavy shower arrived which happily stopped before the game started. However, apart from a light shower in the middle of the game, the rain stayed away and an excellent game was enjoyed in a beautiful setting with Tewkesbury Abbey in the background….
